Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Black Growers Plant Pot is the standard round nursery pot, Australian made in black plastic with drainage holes moulded into the base. Nine sizes run from 100mm through to 480mm, covering a struck cutting right up to an advanced shrub, and the tapered shape means the empties stack down to almost nothing in the shed.

Sizes and what fits in them

Nine sizes, grouped here by what you would actually use them for.

  • 100mm to 135mm. 10cm to 13.5cm across and 10cm to 14cm deep, holding about 0.6 to 1.6 litres. Seedlings, struck cuttings, herbs and small indoor plants.
  • 180mm to 250mm. 18cm to 25cm across and 17cm to 23.5cm deep, about 3.5 to 8.5 litres. The everyday potting on sizes for foliage plants, young shrubs and feature plants.
  • 300mm to 480mm. 30cm to 48cm across and 27cm to 40cm deep, from about 14 litres up to 60 litres. Advanced shrubs and small trees, or growing a plant on before it goes into the ground.

Caught between two sizes, take the larger one. Root volume buys time between waterings.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Black plastic, round and tapered, in a grower grade weight. Rinse or wipe them out between plants.

Outdoors. Suited to indoor and outdoor use, and made to handle regular watering and handling in a garden or nursery. These are working pots rather than display pots.

Drainage. Drainage holes are built into every size. No saucer is included, so use one under any pot standing on an indoor surface, and remember that a pot left sitting in its own runoff defeats the point of the holes.
