Delivery
How your plants get to you
Every order is confirmed with the grower first. Then the freight is quoted with multiple freight companies and the best rate is passed on at cost. Plants travel upright, and you hear from us at each stage.

Step by step
From order to doorstep
Availability and prices come from the growers' own lists and are refreshed daily. Freight for your postcode is worked out at checkout.
We confirm every plant with the nursery that grew it before any freight is booked. If anything is short you hear from us first, with a swap or a refund for that line.
The job is quoted with multiple freight companies and booked at the best rate, passed on at cost. You get an email when the truck is booked.
Plants are packed in their pots, standing up, and collected from the grower. You get an email when they are on the way.
What it costs
Freight at cost, nothing on top
Live plants ride on trucks built for nursery stock, so the cost depends on where you are, how much you order and how big the plants are. The checkout shows your freight before you pay.
Worked out at checkout from your postcode and the size of the order. Each job is quoted with multiple freight companies and the best rate is passed on at cost. We make nothing on freight.
Tubes, tools, fertiliser, lighting and small garden art travel by parcel at a flat parcel rate, and arrive separately from potted plants.
Mature trees and ex ground stock need a tailgate or a crane. We confirm the freight for your address before anything is dispatched, and nothing leaves the grower until you have agreed.
Bigger orders are better value: the truck minimum covers a lot more plants than it does a single pot. For a long hedge, the hedge calculator prices the whole run.
How long it takes
Allow 3 to 7 business days from dispatch
Metro deliveries are usually at the fast end, regional and interstate at the slower end, and advanced or bulk orders are scheduled with the carrier. We confirm the window before dispatch. If you are working to a landscaper's date, tell us before you order and we will plan around it.
- Order confirmed with the grower within a business day
- Freight booked once every plant is confirmed
- Email when the truck is booked, and when it is on the way
- Carriers deliver on business days; nobody needs to sign if a safe spot is noted
Where we deliver
Australia wide, with local pages for the places we deliver most
Potted plants and advanced trees are delivered to Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Western Australian orders are grown by Western Australian nurseries, so nothing crosses the quarantine border. Tasmania and the Northern Territory receive tubestock and garden goods, with the quarantine inspection those states require; gift cards go everywhere.
Before the truck arrives
Four things that make delivery easy
- Clear access to the drop point: gates open, a spot a pallet can land
- Note any limits in the order comments: narrow driveway, no turning space, stairs
- A phone number the driver can reach on the day
- Bulk orders: tell us if there is a forklift on site
If nobody is home, plants are left in the safest spot available. Water them as soon as you can, especially in warm weather.
When your plants arrive
The first hour matters most
- Unpack the same day and stand the plants upright in shade
- One deep watering, then normal watering from the next day
- A few days of shade before full sun, a week for advanced stock
- Photograph anything that looks damaged before you plant it
The full routine is in what to do when your plants arrive.
Damaged or delayed
Tell us straight away, with photos
Transit damage is rare and we fix it quickly. Never refuse a delivery: accept it, photograph the plants and the packaging, and email sales@nurserynearme.com.au with your order number the same day. Every plant is covered by the 30 day guarantee.
- Photos of the plants and the packaging
- Your order number in the subject line
- One line on what arrived and when
Common questions
Delivery
How much does plant delivery cost?
It is worked out at checkout from your postcode and the size of the order, before you pay. Each job is quoted with multiple freight companies and the best rate is passed on at cost, so there is no margin and no handling fee. Specimen trees from 150L are confirmed for your address before dispatch.
Can you deliver large trees?
Yes. Advanced and specimen trees travel on trucks with a tailgate or, for the biggest, a crane. We confirm the freight and the access before anything leaves the grower.
Do you deliver to rural areas?
Yes, Australia wide. Regional and remote addresses take longer and the freight reflects the distance. Western Australian orders are grown by Western Australian nurseries so nothing crosses the quarantine border. Tasmania and the Northern Territory receive tubestock and garden goods, with the quarantine inspection those states require.
Can I track my order?
You get an email when the grower confirms, when the freight is booked and when the plants are on the truck. Carriers do not give live tracking for nursery freight, so if you have no delivery day yet, neither do we; we pass it on the moment we have it.
Can I collect instead?
No. We are online only, with no nursery to visit, so every order is delivered.
When should I water my plants after delivery?
The same day they arrive, deeply, then normal watering from the next day. Keep them in shade for a few days before planting out in full sun.
Ready when you are
