White Terrazzo Omni Bowl

The White Terrazzo Omni Bowl is a low, wide planter cast in fibrecement with a bright white terrazzo look finish. It comes in four sizes from 280mm to 510mm across, and it is part of the Precinct Lite range, so bowls, cylinders and other shapes in the same finish sit together. It gives you the presence of a cast concrete bowl at a weight one person can carry.

Why you'll love it

• Light for a cement pot. Fibrecement is far easier to manoeuvre than solid concrete, which matters on a balcony or a rooftop where weight is limited.
• A finish with something to look at. The speckled terrazzo surface adds texture and contrast instead of reading as a flat white pot.
• Drainage hole included. Water leaves the base rather than sitting under the root ball.
• Four sizes that group well. The range steps up evenly, so two or three bowls together look deliberate rather than mismatched.

Sizes and what fits in them

Four sizes, named by the width across the top. All are shallow bowls.

• 280mm. 28cm across, 13cm deep, roughly 4 to 5 litres. Succulents, small indoor plants and tabletop arrangements.
• 340mm. 34cm across, 15cm deep, roughly 7 to 9 litres. Foliage plants and small mixed plantings.
• 400mm. 40cm across, 18cm deep, roughly 13 to 15 litres. Feature plants and shallow rooted shrubs.
• 510mm. 51cm across, 22cm deep, roughly 26 to 30 litres. Layered bowl displays and larger single specimens.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Fibrecement with a textured white terrazzo look surface. We recommend sealing it with a suitable masonry sealant before you plant, which protects the finish and adds years to it.

Outdoors. It is made for indoor and outdoor use. No frost or UV rating is published for the finish, so we will not claim one: an unsealed cement surface left in a wet, freezing position is the situation to avoid.

Drainage. The drainage hole is already there and should stay clear. No saucer is included, so use a saucer or tray indoors to keep water off timber and stone.

What to expect when it arrives

The bowl ships empty: no plant, no mix and no saucer. Seal it and let it dry before planting, then set it in position before filling, because 26 to 30 litres of wet mix in the 510mm is not something you want to drag across pavers. Pots are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
