Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The White Emmerson Trough is a rectangular planter in lightweight composite, finished plain white and sold in three lengths from 600mm to 1000mm. It is the shape to reach for when planting needs to run in a line: along a fence, down a path edge or across the back of a balcony. Light enough to carry empty, heavy and stable once it is filled.

Sizes and what fits in them

Sizes are named by length. Soil volumes are approximate for the rectangular form.

  • 600mm. 60cm long, 30cm wide and 30cm high, about 45 to 50 litres. Herbs and compact flowering plants.
  • 800mm. 80cm long, 38cm wide and 38cm high, about 90 to 100 litres. Shrubs and mixed planting.
  • 1000mm. 100cm long, 47cm wide and 47cm high, about 170 to 180 litres. Screening plants and feature shrubs.

The 1000mm is the only size with the soil depth to keep a screening plant going long term.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Lightweight composite with a white finish. Rinse it with water or wipe it with a damp cloth as needed.

Outdoors. Weather resistant and specified for outdoor use, not indoor. Sealing with an appropriate sealant before planting is recommended, and it is worth doing properly at the start rather than after the trough is full.

Drainage. One drainage hole, no saucer supplied. On a balcony or a tiled terrace, sit the trough on feet or a tray so water can leave the base freely and does not stain underneath.

Troughs ship empty, without soil or plants, and no liner or insert is needed. Seal it, let it dry, then fill and plant. Bear in mind that the 1000mm holds up to 180 litres of mix, so decide where it is going before you start filling. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
