The Tall Cylinder Planter in light grey is a round, gently tapered pot from the Green Earth range, made from a lightweight composite with a soft earthy texture. It comes in two sizes, 550mm and 750mm, both tall enough to lift a plant towards eye level. Choose it where you want vertical presence but a concrete pot of the same scale would be too heavy to move.

Why you'll love it

  • Height without bulk. The tall tapered form adds structure to a planting group, and the composite build stays light enough for one person to shift.
  • An earthy grey that sits back. The light tone and textured surface read as natural rather than glossy, so the plant stays the feature.
  • Indoors or out. Rated for both, and part of the wider Green Earth range, so a cylinder pairs with other shapes from the same family.

Sizes and what fits in them

Two sizes are stocked, listed by the size code on the range.

  • 550mm. The everyday size. Suits an upright shrub, a strappy leaf clump or a single indoor feature plant, and works well as a pair flanking a doorway.
  • 750mm. The statement size, with the depth for a small tree or a tall architectural plant that needs root room to stay steady in wind.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. A lightweight composite with a light grey, earthy texture. It is not concrete or stone and should not be treated as such, but it holds its shape and is far easier to reposition than a cast pot of the same size.

Outdoors. Built for outdoor as well as indoor conditions. Wipe it with a damp cloth or rinse it when it dulls. We hold no frost rating for it, so in cold inland and southern gardens keep it under cover through winter.

Drainage. Drainage holes are included, so excess water escapes and the mix does not sour. No saucer is supplied and this is not a self watering pot, so indoors it needs a tray underneath. Set it on a stable, level surface before planting.

What to expect when it arrives

The planter ships empty and boxed, with plants sold separately. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. A 750mm cylinder is a comfortable one person carry empty, but it holds a good volume of mix, so decide where it lives before you start potting.
