The Patina Egg Pot is a rounded, egg shaped planter moulded from high density resin and finished to look like aged, weathered metal. It comes in two sizes, 300mm and 450mm, and both are shaped to carry a single feature plant rather than a mixed arrangement. The finish is the reason to buy it: it reads as old on the day it arrives, without the weight or the price of the real thing.

Two sizes, measured across the widest part of the egg.

  • 300mm. 30cm across and 29cm tall, holding roughly 18 to 22 litres of mix. Suits decorative foliage and compact shrubs.
  • 450mm. 45cm across and 41cm tall, holding roughly 55 to 65 litres. Enough soil for a feature plant, lush foliage or a small shrub.

The egg shape draws in towards the rim, so plant one specimen per pot and let the form do the work. Between sizes, the 450mm gives roots more to grow into.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. High density resin with a textured patina finish. It is a light pot that looks like a heavy one, which is the whole point of the range.

Outdoors. It is made for indoor and outdoor use, and the finish is weather resistant rather than designed to keep ageing. No frost or UV rating is published, so we will not claim one: in a hard frost district, a spot under eaves through winter is sensible.

Drainage. Keep the drainage hole clear, especially after heavy rain. No saucer is included, so use one indoors to protect flooring.
