Mojo Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum 'Mojo') is a compact, slender, clumping peace lily that grows 45 to 65cm high and about 60cm wide. Broad leaves are topped with an abundance of pure white flowers (really a modified leaf) held on long stems clear of the foliage. It is a low-maintenance, free-flowering plant for pots indoors, or for shaded underplanting in a frost free subtropical garden.
Why you'll love it
-
Flowers held high. The long stems lift the white blooms above the leaves, so you can see every one of them.
-
A cool tropical look. Broad green leaves and crisp white flowers give a shaded corner a fresh, tropical feel.
-
Slim and upright. It is more upright and slender than other varieties, which suits narrow spots and smaller rooms.
-
Good for cutting. The long flower stems work well in flower arrangements.
-
Low maintenance. It copes with ordinary home conditions and shows you plainly when it needs water.
Where it works best
Pots indoors. A 200mm to 300mm pot in a bright room, out of direct sun, gives a neat, upright clump with flowers at eye level on a side table or in an entry.
Shaded underplanting in warm climates. In frost free subtropical gardens, plant 60cm apart beneath trees or beside shaded walls, where the white flowers brighten the shade.
Offices and shaded balconies. It is a reliable choice for offices and sheltered, shaded balconies where a cool tropical look is wanted.
Growing Mojo Peace Lily in Australia
Position and climate. Plant in a sheltered position and avoid direct sunlight. It likes humid conditions, suits tropical and subtropical gardens outdoors, and is frost tender, so grow it indoors in colder climates.
Soil. Use a good, free-draining potting mix, and mulch the soil surface outdoors. If it outgrows its pot, re-pot at the beginning of spring.
Water and feed. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Then water only when the soil begins to dry, and test by pushing a finger into the soil. Apply a slow release fertiliser in spring and a liquid fertiliser every 2 to 4 weeks in the warmer months, diluted to half the recommended dose to avoid burn.
Pruning. Cut away spent flower stems at the base. For indoor plants, wipe the leaves gently with a damp cloth if dust collects and spritz with a hand sprayer, which brings the foliage back to its usual glossy finish.
What to expect when it arrives
We sell Mojo Peace Lily as tube stock, a young plant in an 80mm deep tube that establishes quickly, in 140mm pots in packs of 10 and in 200mm pots in packs of 6. Tubes suit underplanting a shaded bed, while the potted packs give you plants that are closer to flowering size. Pot or plant it into a sheltered spot soon after it arrives.
Availability of the tube depends on our grower, and it is not always in stock. When the page shows it as sold out, use the notify button and we will email you the day it is back.
Plants are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Every plant is covered by our 30 day healthy plant guarantee.

Common questions
Is Mojo safe for pets?
No. Peace lilies contain calcium oxalate crystals that irritate the mouth and throat if chewed, so they are toxic to cats, dogs and people. Keep the plant where animals cannot reach it.
How is it different from other peace lilies?
Mojo is more upright and slender, and it holds its flowers on long stems above the leaves. The 45 to 65cm size is also easier to place.
How often should I water it?
When the soil begins to dry. Push a finger into the mix to test, and water if it feels dry. Droopy leaves are a sign it needs a drink.
