Glo Go Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum 'Glo Go') is a compact, bushy syngonium that stays about 30cm high and wide. The medium to large arrow shaped leaves are creamy white through the centre and along every vein, and the non trailing habit keeps it neat on a bench, shelf or desk. It is the pale, bright choice for anyone who does not want a plant that runs.
Why you'll love it
-
Creamy white veining. Each arrow shaped leaf carries cream through its centre and along the veins, which lifts a shady corner.
-
Compact and bushy. Unlike the trailing syngoniums, this one is non trailing, so it holds a tidy shape at about 30cm without any training.
-
Large leaves on a small plant. The leaves are medium to large for a plant of this size, which gives it presence on a small table.
-
Made for shade. It wants a humid, shady position with indirect light, the situation where many other plants struggle.
Where it works best
Benches, shelves and desks. The upright, bushy habit suits a countertop or bookshelf where a trailing plant would wander. A pot a little wider than the root ball is plenty.
Shaded patios. Keep it in a pot under cover, in bright indirect light and some humidity, out of the afternoon sun.
Tropical style garden beds. In frost free gardens, use it as an underplanting beneath taller plants, spaced 30cm apart so the leaves meet into a pale, shaded carpet.
Growing Glo Go Arrowhead Plant in Australia
Position and climate. Humid shade with indirect light suits it best, indoors or in a sheltered garden spot. It is frost tender, so plant it outdoors only in tropical and subtropical gardens, and keep it indoors or on a protected patio in cooler climates. Direct afternoon sun bleaches and scorches pale leaves.
Soil. Free draining soil or a good quality potting mix. In a pot, choose one with drainage holes, because waterlogged roots are the quickest way to lose a syngonium.
Water and feed. Water regularly for the first 12 weeks, then only when the soil feels dry. Feed with a liquid fertiliser at half strength every few weeks while it establishes, then ease off to an occasional feed. Indoors, a light spritz on the foliage keeps it happy, since it likes humidity.
Pruning. Very little is needed. Remove old leaves for a quick tidy up. Syngonium is mildly toxic if chewed and the sap can irritate skin, so wash your hands after handling it and keep it away from pets and small children.
What to expect when it arrives
We sell Glo Go as tube stock, a young plant in an 80mm deep tube that establishes quickly. It arrives small, so pot it into a quality potting mix soon after unpacking and keep it in bright, indirect light while it grows into its 30cm shape.
Our tubes come straight from the grower and are not always available. If there are none today, the tube shows as sold out here, and the notify button on the page emails you the day it returns.
Plants are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Every plant is covered by our 30 day healthy plant guarantee.

Common questions
Does Glo Go trail?
No. Glo Go is the compact, non trailing type, so it stays bushy at about 30cm high and wide. If you want stems to hang over the edge of a pot, choose one of the trailing syngoniums instead.
How much light does it need?
Bright, indirect light in a humid spot. Strong direct sun burns the pale leaves, and deep shade tends to dull the cream colouring.
Is it safe around pets?
No. Syngonium is mildly toxic if chewed and the sap can irritate skin, so wash your hands after handling it and keep it away from pets and small children.
