Granular and Controlled Release Fertilisers

Granular fertiliser is the set and forget feed: spread it, water it in, and the granules release nutrients over months instead of days. This Plant Doctor range covers mineral fertilisers, a neem-based granule that conditions the soil as it feeds, and a soluble iron for yellowing plants. The decision that matters is the analysis: nitrogen for leaves, potassium for flowers, fruit and roots.

Choosing by what the plant needs

  • Leafy growth. Roots, Shoots and Leaves has an NPK of 16-2-10, with added zeolite to hold nutrients. It is weighted towards nitrogen for leaf growth and lawn colour and feeds for up to 3 months, which makes it the natural choice for hedges and screening plants.
  • Flowers and fruit. Flowers, Fruits and Roots is 8-2-20 plus trace elements. The 20% potassium supports flowering, fruiting and root strength, and a single application releases over 4 to 6 months.
  • Feeding and conditioning together. Neem Granules are a slow-release fertiliser and soil conditioner in a 1 to 2mm granule, made from neem oil, VolcaMin zeolite and a natural soil wetter. They feed for up to 3 months under lawns, garden beds and food crops.
  • Iron deficiency. Iron Chelate is a different kind of product: microgranules with 13% iron that dissolve completely in water, used as a foliar spray or a root zone treatment for fast correction of yellowing leaves.

Common questions

How do I apply granular fertiliser around new plants?

Scatter it evenly over the root zone, keep it off the stem and foliage, and water it in well. Along a new hedge, feed the whole strip, not just the base of each plant.

How often do I need to reapply?

Roots, Shoots and Leaves and Neem Granules feed for up to 3 months, so reapply once a season while plants are growing. Flowers, Fruits and Roots releases over 4 to 6 months.

Should I use liquids as well?

Granules make the base feed. A liquid fertiliser adds a fast response for pots, vegetables and plants recovering from pruning. Delivered Australia wide.
