Yates BuffaloPro Weed 'N' Feed is a 2.4L ready-to-use hose-on treatment for broadleaf weeds in lawns. It screws straight onto a garden hose with no mixing, and one bottle covers up to 200 square metres of turf. It is formulated for buffalo lawns as well as other common lawn types.

What it does

  • Buffalo tolerance built in. The formulation is made for buffalo lawns and other common lawn types, so the turf is left standing while the broadleaf weeds in it are treated.
  • Selective, not scorched earth. It is listed for bindii, clover, dandelions, thistles and other common broadleaf lawn weeds rather than everything green it touches.
  • Taken down to the roots. The weed absorbs it through the leaf and moves it into the root system, so treated weeds die out instead of shooting again from the crown.
  • Two hundred square metres a bottle. The 2.4L pack treats up to 200 square metres, which covers a typical suburban front lawn in one pass.

How to use it

Attach the bottle to the garden hose, turn the tap on and spray evenly across the lawn using the on and off switch on the applicator. There is no dilution to work out, but the label still governs when and how often it goes on, and those label directions must be followed, including the lawn types it is registered for.

Expect the weeds to curl and yellow gradually, then die within about four weeks. That slow decline is normal, so resist the urge to spray a second time before the first application has finished working.

Established buffalo turf. Lawns that a general purpose weed killer would damage are the reason this pack exists.

An unknown lawn variety. Plenty of gardeners inherit turf and cannot name it, and a product made for buffalo and other common types removes the guesswork.
