Atlantis Osram Pot

The Atlantis Osram Pot is a hand-made Vietnamese ceramic planter in one size, 32 x 32cm outside, holding 15 litres. It is double-fired and finished in the textured aged glaze the range is built around. Equal in width and height, it is the balanced everyday shape that suits almost any position.

Why you'll love it

• Proportions that work anywhere. 32cm across and 32cm tall reads as neutral, so it sits comfortably indoors, on a balcony or in a bed.
• Frost resistant. The double firing lets it stay outdoors through winter in cool southern and inland gardens.
• An aged glaze, hand-applied. The finish is fired into the clay rather than coated on, and every pot carries a slightly different tone.
• Light enough to rearrange. 10 kg empty, so one person can lift it and move the planting as the seasons change.

Sizes and what fits in them

One size only: 32 x 32cm outside width by height, with 15 litres of mix.

• Indoor foliage plants. Fifteen litres takes a plant stepped up from a 200mm nursery pot, which covers most indoor palms, figs and philodendrons.
• Herbs and compact shrubs. Enough for a productive herb pot, a young citrus or a clipped ball.
• Groups of three. Because the shape is neutral, several together at different heights work better than one on its own.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Hand-made ceramic from Vietnam, double-fired, with the aged glaze carried over a textured body. Differences between individual pots are inherent to the process.

Outdoors. Frost resistant and suited to living outside year round. The glaze looks weathered on arrival and continues to patina.

Drainage. It is drilled for drainage. Keep them clear and stand the pot on feet so water escapes freely. Cover each hole with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clogs, then a 50mm layer of 10mm gravel and a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors it needs a saucer.

What to expect when it arrives

It ships empty and packed for transit, dispatched in 2 to 5 business days. At 32 x 32cm and 10 kg it is a one person lift, so it can be planted wherever you want it. Choose a plant suited to containers, because aggressive roots damage any planter over time. These pots are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
