The Stylish Solar Step Light is a small square black light with a built-in solar panel and a motion sensor. Thirty-three warm white SMD LEDs give 160 lumens at 1 metre, and the fitting carries an IP65 rating for dust and water protection.

Why you'll love it

  • Light when someone is there. A pyro-electric infrared sensor detects movement, and the run time self-adjusts when the light is working on its sensor.
  • Bright for a step light. It gives 160 lumens from a body only 112mm square and 46mm deep.
  • Well sealed. The IP65 rating suits exposed steps and walkways, and the PVC lens is UV stabilised.
  • A flat fixing. The flush wall mount base sits tight against a riser, wall or post.

Where to use it

This light is made for stairs and outdoor walkways, and it also suits driveways, pathways and pool areas. On garden steps, fix it to the risers or to the wall beside them so each tread is lit as someone approaches. Along a path that runs beside a garden bed, a light every few metres on a fence or retaining wall shows the way and picks up the edge of the planting. It has multiple settings, so it can be set up to suit the spot. There is no wiring and no electrician. It only needs a position where its panel receives direct sun during the day.
