White Delight Correa (Correa alba subsp. pannosa 'White Delight') is a vigorous native groundcover that thrives in frontline coastal gardens. It grows 30 to 50cm high and about 1.2m wide, with grey-green leaves toned in rust, and small starry white flowers through summer and autumn.
Why you'll love it
-
Built for the coast. It is exceptionally hardy and happy in sandy soil, brushed by salty sea breezes.
-
Starry white flowers. Small white stars cover the plant through summer and autumn.
-
Foliage with texture. The slightly grey-green leaves carry rusty-brown tones that add depth beside plain green plants.
-
Clips to dense mounds. A light trim shapes it into a tidy mounded form, so it looks good even when it is not in flower.
-
Vigorous cover. It grows quickly, filling a border or bank with a soft, spreading mat.
Where it works best
Frontline coastal gardens. Plant it where sea breezes and sandy soil defeat most flowering plants.
Informal borders. It suits native, wildlife and cottage gardens, spilling over edges and softening paths.
Groundcover drifts. Plant 80cm apart for a connected mat as the plants spread, or closer where you want faster cover.
Growing White Delight Correa in Australia
Position and climate. A sunny or partly shaded position, where dappled sunlight is perfect. It suits warm temperate, cool temperate and Mediterranean gardens, including exposed coastal sites. It handles light frost and some drought, so cooler southern coasts suit it as well as mild ones.
Soil. Free-draining soil. It is happy in sandy soil, and a coastal sand needs little improvement. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature while the young plant establishes.
Water and feed. Water regularly until the plant is established. After that it tolerates light frost and some drought. Follow flowering with a native slow release fertiliser.
Pruning. A light trim once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape and encourage bushiness.
What to expect when it arrives
We sell White Delight Correa as tube stock. That is a young plant in an 80mm deep tube that establishes quickly, which is the practical size for covering a larger area. Plant into free-draining soil, mulch it and water until it is growing away.
Tube stock comes from our grower and is not always available. When the grower has none, the tube shows as sold out on this page, and the notify button emails you the day it is back.
Plants are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Every plant is covered by our 30 day healthy plant guarantee.

Yes. It is exceptionally hardy and grows happily in frontline coastal gardens, in sandy soil and salty sea breezes.
How far apart should I plant it?
Plant 80cm apart. Each plant spreads to about 1.2m, so they join into a mat.
When should I trim it?
