The Trapani is a rounded ceramic cylinder for indoor plants, with an earthy textured surface rather than a smooth glaze. It is made in one size, 36cm wide and 31cm high, and holds roughly 22 to 26 litres of mix, which suits a real feature houseplant rather than a desk plant.

Why you'll love it

  • Texture you can see across a room. The earthy textured finish catches side light, so the pot has depth instead of reading as a flat block of colour.
  • Solid ceramic in a shape that does not date. The rounded cylinder suits a plain modern room or a layered, rustic one, and the weight holds a top heavy foliage plant upright.
  • Made for indoor conditions. This is an indoor only pot, built for controlled watering rather than weather.

Sizes and what fits in them

The Trapani is sold in a single size, and the measurements are outside dimensions.

  • 36cm wide, 31cm high. The right size for a feature houseplant with some scale to it: a fiddle leaf fig, a rubber plant, a mature monstera or a clumping palm.
  • 22 to 26 litres of mix. Enough for a plant stepped up from a 250mm or 300mm grower pot, with room to grow into.
  • Smaller plants and herbs. Three or four herbs or small foliage plants also work, planted as one arrangement.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Ceramic, in a rounded cylinder with an earthy textured finish. Wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth when it gathers dust.

Outdoors. The Trapani is specified for indoor use and is not rated for outdoor conditions, so we make no frost or UV claim for it. Keep it out of a hot western window and away from anywhere it will be rained on.

Drainage. The specification does not confirm a drainage hole, so the safe approach is to treat it as a cover pot: leave the plant in its nursery pot, sit it inside on a bed of gravel, and lift it out to water. If you plant straight into it, water sparingly, because a sealed pot holds every drop. A saucer is only needed if water can get out.

What to expect when it arrives

Pots ship empty and packed for transit. A 36cm ceramic pot has real weight, so position it first and plant it there rather than carrying it full.
