Pinky Petite Grevillea (Grevillea lavandulacea 'Pinky Petite') is a small, compact, spreading native groundcover about 30cm high and 1m wide. Small grey-green, semi-rigid foliage carries curled pink and cream flowers from autumn to spring, and birds and insects visit them. It spreads quickly and suits mass planting, wildlife gardens and coastal sites.
Why you'll love it
-
Flowers from autumn to spring. Pink and cream flowers appear across three seasons.
-
Compact and tidy. At 30cm by 1m it will not swamp its neighbours.
-
Quick cover. It is a fast-growing spreader, so a mass planting closes up sooner than with slow groundcovers.
-
Tough once settled. It tolerates drought and light frost once established.
-
Good for wildlife and coasts. The flowers attract nectar-feeding birds and insects, and it is suited to coastal locations.
Where it works best
Mass planting and groundcover. Plant 70cm apart in staggered rows. The plants join up within a season or two to form a low, flowering cover.
Coastal gardens. It is suited to coastal locations, where it will sit low and cope with the conditions.
Wildlife and native gardens. Use it at the front of native beds so flowers are close to eye level for insects and birds.
Growing Pinky Petite Grevillea in Australia
Position and climate. Full sun in a well drained position. It tolerates drought and light frost once established, which suits temperate, Mediterranean and coastal gardens.

Water and feed. Mulch and water regularly until established, which usually takes around 12 weeks. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form, with phosphorus under 3 per cent.

What to expect when it arrives
We sell Pinky Petite Grevillea as tube stock, a young plant in an 80mm deep tube that establishes quickly. Expect a small young plant that spreads quickly once it settles. Its foliage is semi-rigid and slightly spiky, so handle it with gloves when planting. The tube is grown for us by our grower, who does not always have stock. It shows as sold out when there is none, and the notify button on the page emails you the day it is back.
Plants are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Every plant is covered by our 30 day healthy plant guarantee.
