The Atlantis Pharaoh is a hand made ceramic urn from Vietnam, double fired for frost resistance. It stands 106cm tall on a 73cm body and holds 400 litres, which is real root room for a permanent feature plant. The heavily textured aged glaze reads as weathered stonework from the day it lands.

Why you'll love it

  • No two are exactly alike. Each urn is hand made and hand glazed, so colour and texture shift from piece to piece.
  • Double fired for frost resistance. The second firing hardens the body, which is what allows this range to live outdoors.
  • 400 litres of root volume. A tree or a large clipped shrub can sit in it for years before it needs lifting.
  • Drainage already in place. The base is drilled, so your only job is keeping the holes clear and standing the urn on feet.

Sizes and what fits in them

The Pharaoh is made in one size, quoted as outside width by height.

  • 73cm by 106cm, 400 litres. Suits an olive, a citrus, a bay or a magnolia grown as a standard.
  • As a clipped feature. A ball topiary or a shaped conifer sits in proportion on a pot this broad.
  • Left empty. It holds a corner on its own at the end of a path or against a rendered wall.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Hand made ceramic from Vietnam, double fired, finished in a textured aged glaze in natural tones. It weighs 109kg empty, so decide where it lives before it is filled.

Outdoors. The double firing gives the frost resistance, and the glaze is meant to weather. Expect it to gather patina outside rather than stay uniform.

Drainage. Keep the holes clear and raise the urn on feet. Cover each with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors it needs a saucer.

What to expect when it arrives

Pots ship empty, crated and padded for freight, and dispatched in 2 to 5 business days. A 73cm by 106cm urn at 109kg is a two person lift at best, so have help ready. Delivered Australia wide,.
