Yates Tree and Blackberry Weed Killer is a 250ml glyphosate free concentrate for woody weeds and unwanted stumps, the jobs a general lawn or path spray will not finish. It is systemic, so it moves from the leaves or the cut surface down into the root system rather than only burning off what you can see. It comes with a child resistant cap.
What it does
-
Systemic root kill. The active moves through the plant to the roots, which is what stops a woody weed simply reshooting from the crown a few weeks later.
-
Glyphosate free. An alternative chemistry for gardeners who want tough weed control without a glyphosate based product.
-
Two application methods. It can be sprayed onto foliage, or painted straight onto a freshly cut stem or stump, which keeps the chemical off everything growing nearby.
-
Non-selective. It will damage or kill most plants it contacts, desirable ones included. Treat that as a specification, not a warning label.
How to use it
Follow the label directions. The dilution rates, the weeds it is registered for and the conditions it may be used in are all printed there, and they are the only rates you should work to.
The concentrate is diluted with water, or with kerosene where the label directs it for better penetration of woody stems. Sprayed, it goes onto the foliage of weeds that are actively growing, since a plant that is dormant or drought stressed moves very little of anything to its roots. Painted, it goes onto the cut surface of a stem or stump while that cut is still fresh. Keep spray off anything you want to keep, and away from the root zone of nearby trees and shrubs.
What it suits
Woody weeds and stumps. Blackberry, lantana, privet and similar woody weeds, and unwanted tree stumps after felling, where the stump would otherwise keep sending up suckers for years.
Perimeter and spot work. Fence lines, boundaries and rough edges, and targeted spot treatment in a home garden.
Not for. Anything selective. It has no place in a lawn, a garden bed you intend to keep, or over the roots of established plantings. Delivered Australia wide,.
