The Miami is a 600mm high glazed ceramic bird bath in a cream, high lustre finish, part of Northcote Pottery's Primo collection. It is hand made using age old techniques and high fired at over 1250 degrees Celsius. It is for gardeners who want a genuine focal point that also brings birds into the yard.
Set the pedestal on a flat, solid surface. Soft, uneven ground will let it lean, so a paver bedded level into the soil is worth the ten minutes it takes. Lower the bowl on and twist to lock it into place.
Fill with shallow water and refresh it regularly, and wipe the bowl out when it starts to green so the water stays healthy for the birds. Place it within a few metres of a shrub or small tree: birds want cover close by before they will commit to an open bowl.
