Magnificent Sabal Palm

The Magnificent Sabal Palm (Sabinaria magnifica) is a collector's fan palm, described by botanists only in 2013 from rainforest on the Panama and Colombia border. It settles at around 5m tall and 3m wide in cultivation, carrying huge deeply split fans on a short trunk. If you want a tropical feature almost nobody else has, this is it.

Pruning. Remove spent leaves at the base once they have browned right off, and never cut into green fronds. A palm has one growing point, so crown damage cannot be repaired.
