Yates Pyrethrum Insect Pest Killer Concentrate is a 200ml bottle of insecticide concentrate based on an extract of the pyrethrum daisy. It is diluted with water and sprayed onto foliage, and it is non-residual, so it breaks down rapidly rather than leaving lasting activity in the soil. Gardeners reach for it when pests are already on the plant.
Dilute with water using the measure section on the bottle, following the label directions. The rates, and the plants and pests this product is registered for, are printed on the label, and those label directions must be followed. Do not scale a rate up on the assumption that more works faster.
Spray onto the foliage when pests are present, and wet the undersides of the leaves, since that is where aphids, whitefly and young caterpillars sit. Repeat as required rather than on a fixed calendar.
Vegetables and herbs. Edible plants are the classic use, and the concentrate is intended for them when it is applied as directed.
Flowers and ornamentals. Roses, annuals and shrubs carrying an active infestation can be sprayed the same way, foliage wetted top and bottom.
Fruit trees, citrus and indoor pots. The same dilution covers backyard fruit and houseplants, which makes one bottle worth keeping on the shelf.
