The StoneLite Cube is a square planter cast in glass-reinforced concrete, made in eleven sizes from a 25cm cube holding 8 litres to a 100cm cube holding a full 1,000 litres. Square pots sit flush against a wall and line up in a row without wasted gaps, which is why they end up in so many schemes. All weigh about a third of solid concrete.
Eleven sizes, quoted as length by width by height. Aggressive root systems will damage any planter, so plant accordingly.
Material. Glass-reinforced concrete throughout. Empty weights climb from 4kg at 25cm to 110kg at 100cm, so place the largest cubes before filling them.
Outdoors. Made for outdoor use. Sprayed colours use Dulux Weathershield and carry a 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking; raw concrete is supplied unsprayed.
Drainage. It has drainage holes. Keep them clear and stand the cube on pot feet. Cover each hole with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors, use a saucer.
Cubes ship empty, packed to travel. Raw concrete is dispatched in 2 to 5 business days; custom spray colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks. They are delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Measurements are outside dimensions, so a 45cm cube takes a nursery pot a little under 45cm.
