Plant Doctor Micronised Gypsum is a liquid soil conditioner made from natural gypsum, ground to an ultra-fine particle size and held in a thick, free-flowing suspension. It supplies calcium at 16.5% and sulphur at 13%, and it is used to break up heavy clay, ease compaction and improve soil structure.

Why you'll love it

  • Gypsum without the dust. There is no powder to spread. The container is shaken, the liquid is diluted and it is poured onto the soil.
  • Fine particles do more work. Micronising greatly increases the surface area of the gypsum, which speeds up how quickly it reacts and moves into the soil compared with powdered gypsum.
  • Calcium and sulphur together. Both nutrients are supplied in a highly available form, which suits lawns and crops that are short of either one.
  • It works on sodium and magnesium. Gypsum displaces sodium and magnesium from the root zone, which is how it helps tight clay open up for roots.

How to use it

Shake or stir well and keep the mix agitated. In a home garden, add 45ml to a 9L watering can and apply 1L of the mix per sqm, every 2 to 4 weeks. For spot treatment, use 50ml in 10L of water. A watering can or coarse sprayer suits it best; it is not suitable for drippers. Avoid mixing it with iron-based or phosphate products, do not store it diluted, and reseal the container tightly.
