The White Gavin Planter is a round, textured plastic pot in white, carrying the ridged linear detailing of the Gavin range and a drainage hole in the base. Three sizes are available, 350mm, 460mm and 550mm across, holding roughly 22 to 26, 40 to 45 and 85 to 95 litres of mix. It is the low, wide shape in the range, which suits mounding shrubs better than a tall pot does.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. White plastic with a textured surface. Maintenance is a rinse with water or a wipe with a damp cloth, and nothing beyond that.

Outdoors. Designed to withstand year-round outdoor conditions in gardens, courtyards, patios and balconies, and also listed for indoor use. In a windy, elevated position, plant something low and dense rather than a tall narrow specimen, because a light pot carrying a big sail on top will eventually go over.

Drainage. A built-in drainage hole is included, so excess water leaves instead of sitting around the roots. No saucer comes with it, so indoors, or on a balcony with a neighbour below, buy one to match.
