The Tradies Mate Outdoor Broom is a 300mm heavy duty broom made in Australia for the sweeping most household brooms will not handle: driveways, paths, work sites and the debris left behind after a day in the garden. The head runs a twin bristle mix, so it moves bark and grit as readily as it lifts dust.

What it does

  • Two bristle grades in one head. Fine outer fibres collect dust and small particles, while the stronger inner bristles shift bark, pebbles and garden debris in the same stroke.
  • Steel through the handle. The shaft is epoxy resin coated steel at 22mm diameter, which is thick enough to grip properly and not so thick that a long job hurts.
  • Built for trade conditions. Made for commercial, industrial and site work rather than the occasional clean patio.
  • Australian made. Manufactured locally, and sized at 300mm wide, 1420mm high and 70mm deep.

How to use it

Sweep in long steady strokes rather than short flicks. The full stroke loads both bristle grades, so the fine outer fibres pick up dust behind the heavier bristles as they push the coarse material along. On a driveway, work downhill and take debris to one corner. Shake the head out after a dusty job, or rinse it with water after mud, and let it dry before storing. Hang it or stand it upright, so the bristles keep their shape rather than bending under the head.

Driveways, paths and patios. Hard outdoor surfaces collect a mix of grit and fine dust, which is exactly what the twin bristle head is arranged to deal with in one pass.

Work sites and sheds. Trade and construction clean ups ask a lot of a broom, and a coated steel handle survives being thrown in a ute far better than timber or plastic.

Garden and landscape clean up. Bark, soil, leaves and clippings all move with this head, so it earns its place after a mulching day.
