The Sandstone Tall Wavy Planter is a tall, round tapered pot in lightweight composite, textured with a soft wave detail and finished in a sandstone tone. It comes in one size, 40.6cm wide and 55cm high, holding 60 litres of mix. Height is the point of it: this is the pot to use when a planting needs to lift off the ground and hold a corner on its own.

  • Real height in one piece. At 55cm tall before you add a plant, it raises foliage to eye level without a plinth or a stand.
  • Knock out drainage holes. The base is pre scored, so you open the holes by hand for outdoor planting or leave them closed indoors. No drilling, no cracked base.

  • 406mm by 550mm. 40.6cm across the top and 55cm high, with a 60 litre soil capacity. That is enough root room for a feature plant, a tall foliage plant, a shrub or a small tree.
  • Best planting style. Upright and architectural plants suit the tall tapered form. Something low and spreading fights the shape rather than finishing it.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Lightweight composite in a sandstone finish, with the wave texture moulded into the wall rather than applied to it. Wipe clean with a damp cloth or rinse with water.

Outdoors. UV resistant and specified for outdoor use as well as indoor. The existing specification says nothing about frost, so we make no frost claim for it.

Drainage. Knock out the base holes before planting outdoors. Left closed for indoor use, the pot has no drainage at all, so either plant into a grow pot that sits inside it or water very sparingly. No saucer is included.

What to expect when it arrives

The planter ships empty, without soil or plants, and no self watering system is fitted. Open the drainage holes first if it is going outside, then position it before filling, because 60 litres of wet potting mix in a 55cm pot is not something you shift afterwards.
