The Black Strap Wall Bracket is a steel arm for hanging baskets, 250mm long and 200mm high on a strap 15mm wide. The flat profile and plain black finish keep the hardware quiet, so what you notice is the planting rather than the bracket holding it. It is made for outdoor walls and fences.

What it does

  • Steel, not moulded plastic. A single steel strap finished in black, built to carry a planted basket outdoors through weather rather than a light ornament indoors.
  • 250mm of reach. The arm holds a basket a full 250mm clear of the wall, which is enough room for trailing growth to fall without rubbing against render or palings.
  • Slim 15mm profile. Narrow enough to disappear against a fence, and plain enough that a row of them along a wall reads as deliberate.
  • Goes up with standard fixings. No specialist hardware and no bracket kit, so it is a few minutes of work per bracket.

How to use it

Mark the height before you drill. A planted basket hangs well below the arm, and you still have to reach it with a watering can, so set it lower than instinct suggests. Fix the bracket to something solid: masonry, a timber post, or a fence rail with framing behind it. Palings on their own flex, and a basket weighs a good deal more watered than dry.

Use it for hanging baskets and lightweight planters. Wipe it with a dry or damp cloth if it needs it, and check the fixings periodically, particularly heading into storm season, because a loaded basket works at its mountings every time the wind moves it.

Vertical space. Garden walls, fences, courtyards and balconies, anywhere you want planting at eye level without giving up floor space to a pot.
