Made in Switzerland with a 50mm hardened steel blade and forged aluminium handles, it cuts stems up to 25mm thick and every component on it can be replaced. At 215mm long and 55mm wide it is a full size, one handed tool built for people who prune for hours rather than minutes.

What it does

  • Cuts to 25mm. The bypass action slices past itself like scissors rather than crushing, so a 25mm stem comes off cleanly and the wound closes properly.
  • Hardened steel blade. A 50mm blade in hardened steel holds an edge through repeated work and takes a sharpening when it eventually dulls.
  • Forged aluminium handles. The 135mm handles are light for their strength and carry a shock absorbing bumper, which takes the jolt out of the closing stroke.
  • Fully serviceable. Every component of the Felco 2 is a replaceable part, so a worn tool gets repaired rather than thrown out.

How to use it

Take the stem into the throat of the blade, not the tip, and keep the thin cutting blade on the side of the branch you are keeping. Do not twist to finish a cut. If it will not close cleanly the stem is over 25mm and wants loppers or a saw.

Wipe the blades clean after every session and dry them thoroughly. These are not corrosion resistant, so sap and moisture left on the steel overnight will mark it. Check the blade tension regularly and reset it using the simple cutting adjustment: too loose and the cut tears, too tight and your hand tires. Close the snap lock whenever you put them down.
