Praying Mantis Ginger

Praying Mantis Ginger (Larsenianthus careyanus) is a clumping ginger with a flower unlike anything else: small white blooms on curved orange to red bracts that hook forward like an insect at rest. It forms an upright clump about 2m tall and 1m wide, filling the middle layer of a tropical planting without spreading through it.
