The GRC Cylinder is a straight sided planter in glass reinforced concrete, finished in the warm corten style rust that runs through the GRC range. Five sizes run from 30 x 30cm at 20 litres up to 56 x 56cm at 140 litres. Because the shell is thin rather than solid cast, the largest weighs 25kg empty, so one person can place it without machinery.
All measurements are outside dimensions, diameter by height.
Material. Glass reinforced concrete is a thin concrete shell reinforced with glass fibre: the texture of cast concrete at a weight you can lift, which is why 140 litres lands at 25kg empty.
Outdoors. Sold in the rust finish only, and built for permanent outdoor installation. We publish no frost rating for the range, so treat hard frosting districts as untested.
Drainage. It is drilled to drain. Keep the holes clear, stand the pot on feet, and screen each hole with fibreglass flyscreen, not fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Indoors it needs a tray.
Pots ship empty, packed to travel upright. The rust finish is stocked and dispatches in two to five business days. The 56 x 56cm arrives at 25kg, so a second person steadies it rather than lifts it. Delivered Australia wide, delivery from $29.95.
