Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Terrazzo Trough Saucer is the matching base for a terrazzo trough planter, catching the water that drains out so a balcony, deck or indoor floor stays clean. A fibreglass core wrapped in a real terrazzo shell brings it to roughly a quarter of the weight of traditional terrazzo. Three sizes and eleven finishes are available, all measured as outside dimensions.

What it does

  • Keeps runoff off the floor. Every deep watering pushes water and a little fine mix out of the trough. The saucer holds both instead of staining pavers, decking or floorboards.
  • Light for its footprint. Weights run 2kg at 65 x 29 x 4cm, 4kg at 85 x 39 x 4cm and 7kg at 105 x 49 x 4cm.
  • Finished to match the planter. Take the standard terrazzo, or a Dulux Weathershield custom spray carrying a 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking.

How to use it

Set the saucer on a level surface, then stand the trough on pot feet inside it so the planter never sits in the water it has just shed. Cover the drainage holes of the trough with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, because both clog and hold water. Tip it out after heavy rain rather than leaving it standing full, and wipe mineral marks away with warm water and a soft cloth.

What it suits

Balconies and roof terraces. Hard paving above someone else's ceiling shows every drip, and building rules often insist on a tray under anything planted. Empty, one person can lift and tip it.

Indoor troughs on timber. A planted trough beside a window needs something solid between wet mix and the floor, and this wipes clean and reads as part of the pot.
