Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Terrazzo Round Saucer is the matching base for the round planters in this range: a fibreglass core wrapped in a real terrazzo shell. That keeps it at roughly a quarter of the weight of traditional terrazzo, which matters on a balcony. Four diameters and eleven finishes are available.

What it does

  • Catches runoff without the weight. Even the largest is only 2kg, so a pot and its base can be repositioned by one person.
  • Four sizes to match the pot. 20cm at 0.8kg, 24cm at 1kg, 32cm at 1.5kg and 40cm at 2kg, all 4cm deep.
  • A genuine terrazzo surface. The outer shell is real terrazzo, so the base matches the planter above it.
  • Eleven finishes, custom colour included. Take the standard terrazzo, or a Dulux Weathershield custom spray with a 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking. Almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour can be matched for an extra $60.

How to use it

Size the saucer to the base of the pot, not its widest point. The figures above are outside dimensions, so allow for the rim.

Raise the pot on feet within the saucer rather than letting it sit flat, so water leaves the drainage holes freely. Empty it after a heavy watering, and after rain if the pot lives outdoors. In the planter, cover the holes with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen rather than fabric or geofabric, which clog, then add a 50mm layer of 10mm gravel and a quality premium potting mix, never garden soil.

Indoor plants on hard floors. Catching runoff is the difference between watering a pot properly and watering it timidly.

Balconies and apartment courtyards. Weight limits and the neighbours below are real constraints up high.
