This green bird bath stands 695mm high on a 500mm by 500mm footprint and gives visiting birds somewhere to drink, bathe and cool off. It is moulded in UV stabilised polypropylene with an antique green finish, so it carries the look of a cast bath without the weight of one, and it assembles in a few minutes.
Assemble the components as supplied, then stand the bath on level ground. At 695mm high on a 500mm base it needs a firm flat footing, so pavers or compacted soil hold it far better than loose mulch.
Site it within a few metres of a tree or shrub so small birds have cover to retreat into, but leave the approach open enough that they can see a cat coming. Refresh the water and clean the bowl regularly. Water goes stale fast in warm weather, and emptying it every few days also stops mosquitoes breeding in it.
Use. Garden beds and lawns, courtyards and backyards, especially near trees or shrubs where birds already move through. It gives a bed a vertical focal point as well as a function.
