The Gorilla Carts 170L Steel Mesh Cart is the larger of the two steel carts, rated to 453kg with a 170 litre tray and removable mesh side walls. It rides on 13 inch pneumatic tyres and carries a patented 2-in-1 handle that converts to a trailer hitch, so it can be pulled by hand or towed behind a ride-on mower or ATV.

What it does

  • Carries 453kg. A high gauge steel frame and tray on a balanced four wheel chassis, built for loads that would fold a lighter cart.
  • Becomes a flatbed in seconds. The mesh side walls come out, so the same cart takes timber, fence panels or a staked tree lying flat.
  • Rolls on 13 inch pneumatic tyres. The extra diameter lets a heavy load cross soft paddock, sand and rutted tracks instead of bogging down.
  • Tows or pulls. The 2-in-1 handle in UV poly and steel converts to a hitch, and zero turn 360 degree steering keeps it manoeuvrable when you are on foot.

How to use it

The cart is 1320mm long, 590mm wide and 650mm high, so measure gates, paths and the shed door before ordering. Load over the axles, keep the weight even and low, and remember that a 453kg load takes real effort to stop once it is rolling downhill, which is the argument for towing on sloping ground.

Line the tray with a tarp for sand or fine mixes, since mesh sides let fine material through. Hose the tray and frame after use and dry them thoroughly, check tyre pressure regularly, and store the cart undercover to keep rust off the steel.

What it suits

Use on acreage and rural properties. Firewood, feed, fencing, soil and gravel over distances, with the hitch doing the work rather than your back.

Use for landscaping and tree planting. The flat tray takes advanced stock lying down and heavy bagged material standing up, then the sides go back on for mulch and green waste.
