Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Milano is an egg shaped planter in a terracotta finish with a self watering reservoir built into the base, made in Italy. Three sizes are stocked, 380mm, 480mm and 580mm, all 26.5cm tall with footprints from 30cm to 48cm and soil volumes from about 18 to 45 litres once the reservoir is accounted for. It is the pot to choose when the watering can does not always get there on time.

Why you'll love it

  • The reservoir does the watering. An integrated tray and reservoir hold water below the mix and feed it up as the plant needs it, stretching the gap between waterings.
  • You still control drainage. A drainage hole with a removable plug: leave it in to keep the reservoir full, pull it out when the pot lives outside and rain does the work.
  • Light enough for a balcony. Moulded in plastic rather than fired clay, so it handles easily and will not crack under a knock.

Sizes and what fits in them

Three sizes, all 26.5cm high, with the footprint growing rather than the height.

  • 380mm, roughly 18 to 22 litres of mix. Herbs, salad greens and compact indoor plants. The size for a kitchen bench or a balcony rail.
  • 480mm, roughly 30 to 35 litres. Mixed planting or a single feature plant, in a longer footprint that suits a windowsill run.
  • 580mm, roughly 40 to 45 litres. The widest of the three at 48cm across, with room for a shrub or a statement indoor plant.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Plastic in a terracotta finish, made in Italy. It gives the look of clay without the weight, the porosity or the risk of a cracked rim.

Outdoors. UV resistant and rated for outdoor use, so a patio or covered terrace suits it. We hold no frost rating for it, so treat hard frost districts with care.

Drainage. A drainage hole with a removable plug. Plug in for indoors and the reservoir holds water; plug out for outdoors and excess drains away. No separate saucer is needed, because the tray is part of the pot.

What to expect when it arrives

The planter ships empty and boxed, reservoir and tray included, with plants sold separately. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Fill the 480mm with a premium potting mix, not garden soil, water from the top for the first few weeks, then let the reservoir take over as roots reach down.
