StoneLite Tall Tapered Square

The StoneLite Tall Tapered Square is a square planter that narrows towards the base, cast from glass-reinforced concrete in four sizes and eleven finishes. The taper takes visual weight out of a tall pot, so it holds height without looking like a block of stone on the paving.

Why you'll love it

• Height that does not look heavy. The 44 x 44 x 92cm stands close to a metre tall yet reads lighter than a straight sided pot of the same volume.
• About a third of the weight of solid concrete. That largest size is 22kg empty and the smallest 7kg, so neither needs a trolley.
• Reinforced against knocks. Glass fibre through the concrete protects the corners and narrow base, where a plain cast pot chips first.
• Eleven finishes. Raw Concrete as standard, ten sprayed colours, and custom colours for an extra $60.

• 25 x 25 x 45cm, 29L, 7kg. A single upright plant on a balcony or by a step.
• 30 x 30 x 55cm, 50L, 9kg. A compact shrub, or a strappy leaf plant with room to grow.
• 36 x 36 x 66cm, 85L, 13kg. A clipped standard or a dwarf citrus flanking a doorway.
• 44 x 44 x 92cm, 178L, 22kg. Root volume for a slim tree or a screening shrub.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass-reinforced concrete: a genuine concrete skin over a glass fibre matrix, the surface of cast concrete at roughly a third of the mass.

Outdoors. The sprayed colours are Dulux Weathershield and carry a 15 year guarantee against blistering, peeling and flaking. We hold no frost rating for the range, so where winters freeze hard, keep the pot draining freely rather than assume it will cope with ice inside.

Drainage. Keep the drainage holes clear and stand the pot on feet so water can escape. Cover each hole with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, because both clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Use a saucer indoors.

What to expect when it arrives

Pots ship empty and unplanted. Raw Concrete is dispatched in 2 to 5 business days; the sprayed colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks. A tapered pot is top heavy once planted, so site the 44 x 44 x 92cm before filling it. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
