Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Rectangle Copa Taper is an architectural planter made from Oxy-Shield landscaping steel, with clean tapered sides and a rust look finish that develops on the surface over time. Four sizes are available, from a 200mm planter holding 15 to 18 litres up to a 400mm size taking 120 to 130 litres, plus a tall 750mm version. It is built for constant outdoor exposure, which is why landscapers use it where a ceramic pot would be wrong.

Why you'll love it

  • The patina is the finish. Oxy-Shield steel is formulated to form a protective oxidised layer, so the colour deepens with weather instead of flaking away. Misting it with water speeds the process up.
  • Drainage you can switch off. The drainage holes come with removable caps, so the same planter can drain freely in the garden or be sealed for a controlled position.
  • Two ways to use it. Plant into it directly, or stand potted plants inside and change them out with the season.

Each size is named as it appears in the size selector, with its full dimensions and approximate soil volume.

  • 200mm: 40cm wide, 20cm deep, 23cm high, about 15 to 18 litres. Succulents and compact feature planting.
  • 230mm: 80cm wide, 23cm deep, 34.5cm high, about 55 to 60 litres. A linear accent along a wall, or a row of small shrubs.
  • 400mm: 87cm wide, 40.5cm deep, 41cm high, about 120 to 130 litres. Substantial shrubs where you want visual weight.
  • 750mm: 40cm wide, 23cm deep, 75cm high, about 70 to 80 litres. The tall option, for height beside a doorway.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Oxy-Shield landscaping steel in a tapered rectangular form, finished in a rustic rust look that deepens over time. It resists corrosion and flaking rather than rusting through.

Outdoors. Outdoor use only. Rust runoff can stain pavers, decking and tiles, so consider the surface underneath. Filled, this planter is extremely heavy: place it first and fill it second, and wear gloves and eye protection while installing it.

Drainage. Holes are included with removable caps. Line the base with 50 to 100mm of gravel or wood chips before adding mix, which keeps the outlets clear.

What to expect when it arrives

Planters are dispatched empty and boxed for transit. Plants and mix are not included. Even the 200mm size has real heft in steel, and the 400mm is a two person job. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
