Planting is the part of a garden project where good stock is most easily wasted. This service puts your order in the ground for you, planted properly and watered in, priced per plant by the pot size you have ordered. Add it alongside the plants themselves and both arrive as one job.

What you get

  • The hole dug to the right size. Wide rather than deep, which is what lets roots move out into surrounding soil instead of circling.
  • Planted and backfilled. Set at the correct depth, with the backfill firmed and the root ball watered in.
  • Fertiliser at planting. A controlled release fertiliser goes in with each plant.
  • Temporary drip irrigation. Installed to carry the planting through establishment, which is the period when losses actually happen.
  • The site left clean. Pots, bags and offcuts taken away rather than stacked by the fence.

How it works

Pricing. Each plant is charged by its pot size, from $8 for a tube to $2,200 for a 300L to 400L specimen. Add one installation unit for every plant you want planted, matching the tier to the pot size. Where a size falls between two tiers, use the nearest tier at or above it, and count each plant in a pack separately.

Minimum charge. A $300 minimum applies per installation job. Below that the travel and setup cost more than the planting.

Booking. Installation is scheduled against your delivery so the plants go in soon after they arrive rather than sitting in their pots.

What is quoted separately. Advanced stock over 500L and ex ground trees need machinery and a crew, so they are quoted on the job rather than priced from this list.

Whole garden orders. A hedge run or a full bed is where this earns its keep: consistent spacing, consistent depth, and irrigation in on day one.

Site conditions we assume. Normal access for a person with a barrow, and soil that can be dug by hand. Rock, heavy compaction, steep or restricted access, or ground under existing services all change the job, so tell us before you book.

Service area. Installation is carried out across South East Queensland and the east coast down to Sydney. Plants are delivered Australia wide, but the planting crew is not, so check that your address is covered before you add it to an order.
