Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Pompeii Tall Lotus Pot is the deeper version of the lotus shape, hand crafted in double fired ceramic and finished in the black and white volcanic texture that runs through the Pompeii range. It is made in two sizes, 43 x 43cm and 65 x 60cm. The extra depth is what you are paying for: more root room than a lotus bowl of the same width, which is what a shrub or small tree needs.

Why you'll love it

  • Depth where it counts. Both sizes are close to as deep as they are wide, so roots have room and the mix does not dry out by lunchtime.
  • Hand applied volcanic finish. The black and white texture is worked by hand, so no two pots carry the same marbling.
  • Double fired ceramic. Two firings build density into the body, which is what a pot holding wet mix outdoors needs.
  • Drainage already there. Both sizes arrive with drainage holes, so there is no drilling into fired ceramic.

All measurements are outside dimensions, diameter by height.

  • 43 x 43cm. A shrub, a clipped ball, a citrus or a compact palm. The size for a matched pair either side of a door.
  • 65 x 60cm. A small tree, a mature palm or a tall architectural specimen. Enough soil volume to carry it through summer.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Hand crafted, double fired ceramic. The texture sits in the surface, not on top of it, and varies piece to piece.

Outdoors. Made for outdoor positions. We hold no frost rating for this finish, so in hard frosting districts give it a sheltered spot.

Drainage. Keep the holes clear and raise the pot on feet so water escapes freely. Cover the holes with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add a 50mm layer of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix rather than garden soil. Choose plants suited to containers: aggressive roots can damage any planter.
