Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The GRC Square Tree Planter is glass reinforced concrete built for actual trees, holding 2,138 or 3,800 litres of mix. The standard finish is a warm corten style rust that sits well against foliage, with ten Dulux Weathershield spray colours available instead. At this volume a tree keeps a real root run for years.

Sizes and what fits in them

Two sizes, both 100cm deep. All measurements are outside dimensions.

  • 150 x 150 x 100cm. 2,138 litres, 500kg empty. An advanced feature tree, a clipped standard, or a tree with a low border planted underneath it.
  • 200 x 200 x 100cm. 3,800 litres, 700kg empty. The largest specimen trees, and forecourt or rooftop work where the planter is the landscape.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass reinforced concrete, moulded rather than cast solid, which keeps a planter this size at 500kg to 700kg instead of several tonnes. It is still far beyond a hand lift: plan machinery access and set it in place before filling.

Outdoors. An outdoor planter, specified for commercial installs as well as private gardens.

Drainage. Drainage holes are included and must stay clear. Raise it on feet, cover each hole with fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Add a 50mm layer of 10mm gravel, then fill with premium potting mix, never garden soil. Avoid trees with aggressive roots, which damage any planter.

What to expect when it arrives

The planter ships empty and unplanted. Rust finish planters are dispatched in 2 to 5 business days; custom spray colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks. At 700kg empty, the 200 x 200 x 100cm size needs machinery and clear access at your end. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. Advanced and large stock is freighted at cost.
