GRC Long Divider Trough

The GRC Long Divider Trough is the full height version of the divider: 150cm or 200cm long, a full metre tall, in glass reinforced concrete. Planted with a screen it does the work of a fence without touching the boundary, and it holds up to 950 litres: enough soil to keep a hedge in a pot alive for years.

Sizes and what fits in them

All measurements are outside dimensions, length by width by height.

• 150 x 50 x 100cm, 715 litres, 190kg. Three or four screening shrubs in a row: dwarf lilly pilly, clipped westringia, or slim clumping bamboo.
• 150 x 60 x 100cm, 855 litres, 200kg. The same length, 10cm more depth. Worth having for anything you will keep clipped for a decade.
• 200 x 50 x 100cm, 950 litres, 280kg. Two metres of screen from one unit, or two end to end for four.
• 200 x 60 x 100cm. The largest. Volume and weight are not published for it, so budget above 950 litres and 280kg.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass reinforced concrete is a concrete shell reinforced with glass fibre. It reads as cast concrete and weighs a fraction of it, though at 190kg to 280kg empty these need machinery, not muscle.

Outdoors. The custom spray finishes are Dulux Weathershield. No frost rating is published, so we do not claim one.

Drainage. It is drilled to drain. Keep the holes clear and stand the trough on feet, then screen each hole with fibreglass flyscreen, not fabric or geofabric, which clogs. Lay 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Avoid aggressive rooted species.

What to expect when it arrives

Troughs ship empty. Rust dispatches in two to five business days; custom spray colours are made to order, so allow two to three weeks. The 200 x 50 x 100cm arrives at 280kg empty, so organise lifting gear before delivery day. Delivered Australia wide, delivery from $29.95, and advanced and large stock is freighted at cost.
