GRC Bullet Planter

The GRC Bullet Planter is a tall, tapered column in glass reinforced concrete, sold in three sizes from 32 x 62cm up to a full metre at 54 x 100cm. It buys height in a narrow footprint, which is what a doorway or a balcony corner usually needs. The standard finish is a warm corten style rust, with ten sprayed colours behind it.

All measurements are outside dimensions, diameter by height, with volume and weight.

• 32 x 62cm, 55 litres, 4kg. An upright grass, a compact palm, or a slim topiary beside a door.
• 42 x 77cm, 122 litres, 10kg. Established shrubs from 300mm stock, or a clipped standard with root room.
• 54 x 100cm, 230 litres, 22kg. A small feature tree or a tall screening plant, lifted a metre off the ground.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Glass reinforced concrete: a concrete skin cast over glass fibre, which keeps a metre tall pot to 22kg.

Outdoors. Built for outdoor installation, commercial sites included. The weathering guarantee sits in the coating rather than the concrete: Dulux Weathershield sprays are covered 15 years against blistering, peeling and flaking. We publish no frost rating for the body, so in hard frost districts keep it clear of standing water.

Drainage. It has drainage holes and they must stay clear. Raise it on feet, screen the holes with fibreglass flyscreen rather than fabric, which clogs, then add 50mm of 10mm gravel and a premium potting mix, never garden soil. Aggressive roots damage any planter, so choose plants suited to pots. Under cover, use a saucer.

What to expect when it arrives

Pots ship empty and unplanted. Rust finish stock is dispatched in 2 to 5 business days, while custom spray colours are made to order, so allow 2 to 3 weeks. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95. A tall pot is top heavy once planted, so the 54 x 100cm size wants a sheltered position.
