Can I get a colour that is not listed?

Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Brown Lightweight Cylinda Planter is an Italian made plastic pot with a terracotta look finish and a self-watering tray and reservoir built into the base. It comes in four sizes, 300mm, 400mm, 500mm and 600mm across, holding from about 10 litres up to about 50 litres of mix. You get the warmth of terracotta with none of its weight, and a reservoir that stretches the interval between waterings.

  • Self-watering as standard. The tray and reservoir hold water below the root ball and release it as the mix dries, which evens out the wet and dry swings that kill container plants.
  • Terracotta look, plastic weight. The finish reads as clay from a metre away, but even the 600mm lifts easily unfilled.

Sizes and what fits in them

Widths are measured across the top, and soil volumes are approximate.

  • 300mm. 30cm across, 21cm high, about 10 to 12 litres. Herbs, a compact indoor plant or a small fern.
  • 400mm. 40cm across, 27cm high, about 20 to 22 litres. Foliage plants and mixed plantings.
  • 500mm. 50cm across, 34cm high, about 35 to 38 litres. A feature plant or a small shrub with room to grow into.
  • 600mm. 60cm across, about 45 to 50 litres. Larger plantings, or several plants grouped in the one pot.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Plastic, manufactured in Italy, in a terracotta look finish. Real terracotta wicks moisture out through the wall and dries fast. This does not, so the mix stays wetter for longer.

Outdoors. UV resistant and rated for outdoor as well as indoor use: balconies, patios and open garden positions.

Drainage. Drainage is integrated with the reservoir rather than running as open holes through the base. Check the reservoir level regularly and top it up instead of flooding the soil surface. Matching saucers are available separately.

What to expect when it arrives

Planters ship empty, with the tray and reservoir included and no plant or mix. Seat the tray before you fill, particularly in the 500mm and 600mm sizes where reaching under a full pot is not practical. Delivered Australia wide, with delivery from $29.95.
