The Black Hanging Basket Lock In Brick Hook hangs a basket, a planter or a garden hose off a brick wall with no drill, no screws and no wall plugs. It slides into the raked mortar channel between two bricks, and the weight of whatever you hang on it holds it in place. It suits renters and courtyard gardeners, and anyone who would rather not put a masonry bit through a good wall.

What it does

  • No drilling and no fixings. The hook seats in the mortar channel and locks under load. Lift it back out and the brickwork is exactly as it was.
  • Holds up to 30kg. That covers a planted hanging basket, a coiled hose, a length of shelving or a ladder hung flat against the wall.
  • Metal, in a black finish. 150mm long and 25mm square in section, so it sits tight to the wall and stays visually quiet once a basket is on it.
  • Indoor or outdoor. The same fixing works on a courtyard wall, a brick fence, a shed or a garage.

How to use it

Find a mortar joint that is raked back rather than finished flush with the brick face. The hook is made for standard 75mm brick courses with raked mortar, so run a finger along the joint first: no channel, nothing to grip. Push it in, seat it fully and check it sits square to the wall before loading. Add the load rather than swinging it on, and keep the total under 30kg. Wipe clean with a dry or damp cloth.

Use. Hanging baskets and planter boxes on brick walls and brick fences. On balconies and in courtyards it adds hanging greenery where a permanent fixing is either not allowed or not wanted.
