Seasol Advanced Potting Mix is a premium grade container medium for gardeners who would rather buy a working mix than build one. Each 25L bag carries slow release nutrients and trace elements, a wetting agent, and Seasol GOLD, the calcium enhanced plant tonic. It is Red Tick certified to the Australian Premium Potting Mix standard, which is the top grade a bagged mix can carry.

What it does

  • Feeds for up to six months. Balanced slow release nutrients and trace elements are already in the bag.
  • Settles plants in faster. Seasol GOLD is included to reduce transplant shock and support strong cell development while roots move out into the new mix.
  • Keeps water at the root zone. The added wetting agent stops the mix turning water repellent, which is what makes a dry pot shed water down the inside wall and out the drainage holes.
  • Certified, not just labelled. Red Tick certification covers structure and nutrition, so the bag has been tested rather than described.

How to use it

Twenty five litres fills roughly one 300mm pot, or a pair of 250mm pots, so count your containers before ordering. Part fill the pot, sit the plant so the top of its root ball finishes just below the rim, then backfill and firm lightly rather than compacting. Water thoroughly straight away: that first soaking wets the profile evenly, activates the wetting agent and starts the nutrient release. There is no need to add fertiliser at planting, because the mix is already charged for six months.

Everyday potting and repotting. Indoors and out. It handles flowering plants, foliage plants and potted edibles, where a productive plant benefits from steady rather than sporadic nutrition.
