Scotts Osmocote 25L Premium Potting Mix is a general purpose container mix built around Smart Feeding Osmocote controlled release fertiliser. It suits potting and repotting a mixed collection of indoor and outdoor plants, and takes feeding off your mind for half a year. One bag holds 25 litres.

What it does

  • Six months of feeding. Smart Feeding Osmocote technology releases nutrient while plants are actively growing, rather than delivering it all in the first few waterings.
  • Water that actually soaks in. A wetting agent is blended through the mix, so water and dissolved nutrient move down to the root ball instead of running off a dry surface.
  • A stronger start. Growth stimulants encourage root development through the weeks after potting, which is when a plant is at its most vulnerable.
  • Balanced trace elements. Micro-nutrients are already in the blend, so foliage colour holds without a separate supplement.

How to use it

Fill the pot to just below the rim, plant straight into the mix with nothing added, and water thoroughly to settle it and start the fertiliser working. Twenty five litres fills one 300mm pot with a little to spare, or around four 200mm pots, so add up your pot volumes before you order.

Feeding runs for up to six months. Heavy feeders will want a supplementary fertiliser sooner than that, and most ornamentals will not need one in the first season.
