Richgro Black Marvel Garden Compost is a premium blend of fully composted organics, enriched with Richgro Black Marvel Premium Food. Dug through a bed it improves soil structure and fertility, and it feeds the soil biology that keeps a garden productive over years rather than weeks. The 25 litre bag suits flowers, fruit trees, vegetables and ornamentals alike.

What it does

  • Fully composted before bagging. The organics have finished breaking down, so they work on structure and fertility straight away instead of composting further in your bed.
  • Certified to AS4454. That is the Australian Standard for composts, soil conditioners and mulches, the benchmark for a mature and consistent product.
  • Fertiliser blended through. Black Marvel Premium Food is mixed in, which is what lifts flowering, fruit and vegetable performance above what plain compost delivers.
  • Support for soil biology. Beneficial microbes do the long term work in a garden bed, and organic matter keeps their numbers up.

How to use it

Mix the compost into existing soil, or spread it across a garden bed and turn it through before planting. Water well afterwards to settle it in and get the nutrients and microbes moving. It works the same way in a bed being built from scratch and in an established garden being brought back.

Twenty five litres worked over one square metre gives a layer around 25mm deep before you dig it in, which is a useful figure when you are buying for a whole bed rather than a single plant hole.
