Richgro All Purpose Gardenia, Azalea and Camellia Fertiliser is a granular plant food formulated for acid loving shrubs. This 2.5kg bag carries added organics and a built in soil wetter, so the nutrient and the water both reach the root zone instead of sitting on a dry surface. It is the straightforward choice for gardenias, azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas and rhododendrons, in garden beds or in pots.

What it does

  • Matched to acid lovers. The formula is built around what gardenias, azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas and rhododendrons want, not a general garden food stretched to cover them.
  • Low phosphorus. Richgro describes the blend as waterways safe and suitable for sensitive plants.
  • Organics through the granule. Added organic matter improves soil condition as the feed breaks down, so the bed gains structure too.
  • Wetting agent included. The built in soil wetter helps water penetrate a dry surface and keeps soil moist and productive for up to six months.

How to use it

Spread the granules evenly around the base of each plant, working out to the edge of the canopy where the feeding roots sit, and keep them off the stem. Water in well afterwards. Watering dissolves the granules and activates the wetter, and a dry application does very little.

One feed supports the plant and holds soil moisture for up to six months, and it can be reapplied as required to maintain healthy growth. Rates change with the size of the plant, so follow the directions on the pack.
