Fine Farms Blended Poultry Manure is a nutrient rich, fully composted 25 litre bag, safe to use straight from the bag. It adds organic nutrients while improving soil structure, aeration, drainage and moisture retention, and it encourages the earthworms and soil organisms that keep a bed working. It suits a gardener feeding a hungry bed rather than simply adding bulk to poor ground.

What it does

  • Organic nutrients, already composted. It is fully composted before bagging, so it is safe for immediate use without further processing.
  • Better structure and drainage. It improves aeration and drainage, which is what lets roots develop properly instead of stalling in compacted ground.
  • Holds moisture. Added organic matter improves moisture retention, so beds carry through hot dry stretches on less watering.
  • Wakes the soil up. It encourages earthworms and beneficial organisms, and that biology keeps working long after the application.

How to use it

Twenty five litres spread 25mm deep covers roughly one square metre, so plan on a bag per square metre for a full application. Spread it evenly over the soil surface and lightly work it in where the bed allows. On a lawn, spread it thinly enough that the grass blades still show through.

Water well after application. It is the step most people skip, and it is what carries the nutrients down into the soil rather than leaving them on top. Use it ahead of planting for the best result, or as a conditioner on beds already growing. Keep it clear of stems and trunks, and on vegetables apply it as directed rather than heaping it around seedlings.
