Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Thai Limestone Stella Bowl is the largest piece in the Thai limestone range, a hand made bowl measuring 115cm across and 70cm high with a 350 litre planting volume. It carries the same softly aged limestone glaze as the rest of the range, and at over a metre wide it is bought as the focal point of a space.

Why you'll love it

  • 350 litres of planting volume. That is a garden bed in a bowl, enough for a layered planting with height, filler and a trailing edge.
  • 115cm across. Wide enough to anchor a courtyard, a driveway turning circle or the end of a pool surround on its own.
  • Aged mineral finish. The matt limestone surface is closer to weathered stone than to glazed ceramic, so it reads as permanent rather than decorative.

Sizes and what fits in them

The Stella is made in one size, quoted as outside dimensions.

  • 115cm across, 70cm high. Surface enough for a drift of five to seven plants, or a single small tree underplanted to the rim.
  • 350 litres of mix. Fill in stages and firm as you go, working a slow release feed through while the bowl is empty.
  • 110kg before planting. Once filled and watered this is a permanent fixture, so check the surface under it can carry the load.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Limestone glazed ceramic, hand made and hand finished. Tonal variation and an untrue rim come with the process.

Outdoors. Sold as an outdoor bowl. We publish no frost rating for the Thai limestone range, so in frost prone gardens treat it like any glazed ceramic and never let water sit in the base over winter. The wide surface also loses moisture faster than a tall pot.

Drainage. Keep the drainage holes clear and stand the bowl on feet so water escapes. Cover them with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix rather than garden soil, and plant only species suited to containers: aggressive roots damage any planter.
