Yes. StoneLite, GRC and Terrazzo pots can be custom sprayed in almost any Dulux or Colorbond colour for an extra $60. Contact us before ordering.

The Thai Limestone Essence Pot is a hand made urn from Thailand, shaped in a centuries old tradition and finished in a softly aged limestone glaze. It stands 78cm high and 73cm across, holds 130 litres of mix, and is made in this one size only.

The Essence is made in a single size, and the measurements are outside dimensions.

  • 73cm wide, 78cm high. An olive, a frangipani or a clipped ficus ball looks in proportion here rather than lost in it.
  • 130 litres of mix. Buy to that figure, less the gravel layer, and blend a slow release feed through while the pot is empty.
  • 90kg before planting. Set it in its final position, on feet, before you fill it.

Material, weathering and drainage

Material. Limestone glazed ceramic, hand made in Thailand. Tonal shifts, a soft matt surface and a rim that is not machine true come with the process rather than being faults.

Outdoors. This is an outdoor vessel. We publish no frost rating for the Thai limestone range, so treat it as you would any glazed ceramic and never let water sit in the base through winter.

Drainage. Keep the drainage holes clear and stand the pot on feet so water escapes. Cover them with a single layer of fibreglass flyscreen, never fabric or geofabric, which clog. Add 50mm of 10mm gravel, then a premium potting mix rather than garden soil, and choose plants suited to containers: aggressive roots damage any planter.
